If your idea of a dream day includes hiking or biking through crisp mountain air, postcard-worthy views, and a well-earned glass of wine (or two), let us introduce you to your new favorite trail: the Chemin du Vignoble Valais, or as we like to call it — the Sip & Stroll Trail of Valais.

This isn’t your typical trail — it’s a verticaly winding, wine-loving adventure through the heart of Swiss Valais vineyard country, a fertile plain, stretching from Martigny to Leuker (yes, the Leukerbad with the thermal spas — save that idea for later ).

The Chemin du Vignoble is 82 kilometers (52 miles) of pure Valais magic — you can do it on foot or by bike, at your own pace (think: slow travel, baby). You’ll meander through sunny hillside vineyards, pass sleepy alpine villages, and soak up the kind of views that stop you mid-sentence – dramatic Alpine peaks, charming stone terraces, and the Rhône River glittering below. It’s a love letter to Swiss wine culture.
The best part? You’re not just walking some of the steepest vineyards in the world — you’re TASTING your way through Valais. This trail is lined with local wine cellars, tasting stops, and family-run restaurants serving up traditional Valaisan dishes (hello raclette, fondue, dried meats, apricot studded desserts… yes, please!). It’s a walking picnic with bonus wine pairings.

So whether you’re craving a solo soul reset, a romantic alpine date, family time, or a mom’s weekend escape, the Chemin du Vignoble is a go-to for turning l’ordinaire into your very own ooh-la-la.
